Nerlandsøya

Nerlandsøya is the third largest island in the municipality Herøy, one of the Sørøyane ( " southern islands " ) owned island in Sunnmøre ( Møre og Romsdal ). The archipelago is located southwest of Ålesund. On the island are the villages of Kvalsund and Kvalsvik and Koperstad. Nerlandsøya had 2005 853 inhabitants in the year. The island is connected to the neighboring island Bergsøya with a bridge, the Nerlandsøybrua. Is the popular bay Mulevika On the west side of the island. From the village Kvalsvik a road leads Mulevika. In the southwest of the island is today uninhabited island Skorpa on which a herd of wild goats alive.

On Nerlandsøya is also the AIS system, by which the ship traffic is monitored in the region.
