Nero-Film

The Nero - Film AG was a German film production company based in Berlin.

The company was founded in 1925 by producer and director Richard Oswald and the entrepreneur Heinrich Nebenzahl as a subsidiary of Richard Oswald Production GmbH and Heinrich Nebenzahl & Co GmbH. The letters " NE " stands for Heinrich Nebenzahl, "RO" for Richard Oswald. The company was founded in 1927 converted into a corporation from a limited liability company. Under the influence of Nebenzahl son Seymour Nebenzahl the Nero film which had initially set to salable commodity like Harry Piel films developed in the late 1920s to one of the artistically ambitious production companies in Germany, with directors such as GW Pabst and Fritz Lang produced a number of important films of the Weimar period, like Pandora's Box, Western Front 1918, the Threepenny Opera, M, camaraderie, the Mistress of Atlantis and the Testament of Dr. Mabuse.
