Neuekrug-Hahausen–Goslar railway

The railway line Neuekrug - Hahausen - Goslar is a two-track, non-electrified main line in Lower Saxony. The running along the northern edge of the Harz in Goslar route begins and ends in New Pitcher Hahausen in the railway Brunswick- Kreiensen to Seesen and Kreiensen one. Since the junction station is now run through without stopping, is of a railway line Goslar- Seesen talk often. The in the region frequently encountered name Nordharz route is not clear. The main and only today stopover is Langelsheim.

History

In 1875 the railway line Vienenburg - Langelsheim about Grauhof was opened by the Magdeburg- Halberstadt Railway and was later extended beyond Clausthal to Altenau as Innerstetal train to Lautenthal. This is followed a branch line of the Brunswick Railway Company had been connected by Neuekrug - Hahausen on 15 September 1877 which saved the east-west freight from Halberstadt to Kreiensen going through Salzgitter Ringelsheim. This railway company also built an extension to Goslar, which was opened on 1 May 1883.

Since then, the freight on the flatter route ran through Grauhof while the passenger about Goslar was driving. In addition, the local freight in Langelsheim, Herzog- Julius- hut and Goslar was served.

The older rail freight over Grauhof was the victim of German division and lost in 1954 to traffic. 1976 also Innerstetal railway was abandoned in Langelsheim remaining only the younger route.

Today, the railway route is claimed passenger in a compressed two- hour intervals.
