Neuendorf A is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald Ducherow in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. By the end of 2011, Neuendorf A was an independent municipality with the districts Kurt Hagen and A. Neuendorf

Geography and transport

Neuendorf A lies on the main road 109 Anklam is located about 18 km north-west and Ueckermuende approximately 13 km east of the village.

The railway line Angermuende - Stralsund runs through the urban area, but had never had a station here; the nearest station is Ducherow six kilometers to the north.

Neuendorf A is located on the western edge of the Ueckermünder Heath.

History

Neuendorf A was referred to as " Niendorp " until 1618 in the Lubin'schen card. With the addition of A, it was first written in 1779, then long without changing or a or b, and until 1957 officially with A.
