The Ducherow station is a neighborhood on the kilometer 163.2 of the main track Angermuende - Stralsund railway station. In 1863 he opened together with the track station was also from 1876 to 1945 starting point of a main track to Swinoujscie, primarily served the holiday traffic to Usedom.

Location and construction

The station is located east of Ducherow at the intersection of the web with the country road 31 The diversion Swinemünder train was roughly two kilometers to the north. It has two side platforms on the main tracks. The station building is located west of the track, it is no longer used.

History

Ducherow was connected on March 16, 1863 with the inauguration of the section of Angermuende to Anklam on the railway network. Initially designed as a simple stop, took place with the construction of the railway in 1876 and Swinemünder the doubling of both routes in 1908 the steady expansion of the railway facilities on site. In addition to the main platform ( platform 1) two covered central platforms ( tracks 1 to 4) were created, which were connected to each other via a pedestrian tunnel.

The closure was the extensive restoration of the railway tracks and the replacement building of two outer platforms on the double-track railway in 2005.

Traffic

The station served until 1945 mainly the transfer traffic and the movement of goods. In addition to passenger and express trains from Berlin to Stralsund and the island of Rügen and Usedom, the station was occasionally approached by international express trains. Currently, the phone operates in the train station every two hours through the Regional Express Line 3, thus a direct connection towards Stralsund, Berlin and Elsterwerda is made.
