Neuromancer (video game)

Neuromancer is a computer game based on the cyberpunk novel Neuromancer by William Gibson. It belongs to the genre of adventure role-playing games.

It was published in 1988 for the Commodore 64, Apple IIc / e and the Apple IIgs and was identified with the unnamed accompanying line " A cyberpunk role-playing Adventure" ( a cyberpunk adventure role-playing game ') advertised. 1989, there appeared for the operating system MS- DOS on IBM-compatible PCs, in 1990 for the Amiga 500/600-Computer. It was developed by Interplay Productions.

In Neuromancer from 1988 is a 2D game in side view. The character is moved with keyboard or joystick. It was considered one of the best hackers games of all time and received when it first appeared a few prizes. It set new standards in variety and the presentation and inspired later games in the cyberpunk style. As one of the most common criticisms was the slightly tedious collecting passwords, hardware and software that is necessary to get ahead.
