Nevsehir is the capital of the Turkish province of Nevsehir. Nevsehir means Neustadt.

The city of Nevsehir has about 94,000 inhabitants (2013 ) and is located in the Central Anatolia landscape of Cappadocia.

The city was under the Ottomans Muskara and was the birthplace of the Grand Vizier and son- in Sultanahmet III. , Damat Ibrahim Pasha ( 1660-1730 ). The Grand Vizier turned his birthplace all his attention to and let in the original comprehensive eighteen houses Village Muskara mosques, fountains, madrasas, baths, caravanserais, schools and soup kitchens build and eventually named the place in Nevşehir (Persian Nou Shahr, " new city " ) around. A special attraction is the Ibrahim Pasha Mosque (also Kursunlu Camii ), built in 1724 by Sarkis Kalfa.

In November 2000, an official friendship agreement between Nevsehir and Pforzheim and on 6 December 2007 was completed in the cities Partnership Agreement.
