New Grosvenor Stadium

Lisburn Distillery

The New Grosvenor Stadium is a stadium in Ballyskeagh, a small suburb of Lisburn, Northern Ireland, which is used in addition to its use as a home of Lisburn Distillery Football Club since 2008 under the name Drumbo Park as a venue of greyhound racing.

History

The New Grosvenor Stadium was built in 1980, since 1971 the old stadium of the club, the Grosvenor Park, was destroyed by fire. In the nearly ten years between the two stages, the team played at various courses in the area.

The stadium

The stadium has 8000 seats, including seats in 1600. The main grandstand consists exclusively of seats and is covered. In contrast, the also covered backstretch offers only standing room. An occasion of the opening of the Drumbo Park Greyhound erected as a racecourse in 2008 glazed construction on the backstretch, which replaces the existing grandstand there originally and now a restaurant and more seating and lodges offers is, however, used only on race days.

From the end of the grandstand to the backstretch semicircular more standing room are arranged. The seating pattern on the main stand gives the lettering Whites, the nickname of the Lisburn Distillery FC.

The playing field is completely enclosed by a graded sand with greyhound racing track, which in turn is surrounded on both sides by an appropriate railing.
