New Zealand outlying islands

New Zealand Offshore Islands, often referred to as New Zealand Outlying Islands, is a collective name for eight island groups in the island nation New Zealand, although they are outside of the New Zealand continental shelf, but not a dependent territory as Tokelau, or a self-governing territory in "free association with New Zealand " as represent Niue or the Cook Islands.

The following groups of islands, sorted from north to south, are among the New Zealand Offshore Islands:

Permanent inhabited only the Chatham Islands, but form their own region and not part of the "Offshore Islands ". A manned meteorological station there to belonging to the Kermadec Islands Raoul Iceland and an unmanned since 1995 meteorological station exists on the Campbell Islands. The five southernmost island groups in December 1998 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site "Sub - Antarctic Islands New Zealand" summarized and may not or only conditionally be entered.
