Newcomb (lunar crater)

Newcomb is an impact crater on the moon northeastern front in the mountains of Montes Taurus, southeast of Lacus Somniorum and north of Lacus bonitatis. The irregularly shaped crater has inside traces of extensive landslides.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the American astronomer and mathematician Simon Newcomb.
