NGC 2040

NGC 2040 ( also N59B ) is a fog - complex with an OB association (LH 88) is connected, and is on the edge of the super-bubble LMC4 in about 160 KLJ distant Large Magellanic Cloud in the constellation Dorado. The complex consists of an H II region in the northern part and the supernova remnant SNR 0536-676 in the southern part, which forms a nearly spherical bubble-shaped and embossed structure of filaments. The stellar association containing several massive young stars. The object appears in the sky as a strip- shaped roughly in north-south direction extending structure and is just east of N59A.
