NGC 2997

NGC 2997 is the name of a spiral galaxy of type Sc, in the constellation air pump. NGC 2997 has a surface area of 9.5 '× 6.8 ' and an apparent brightness of 9.4 mag. The galaxy was discovered on March 4, 1793 by the German - British astronomer William Herschel.
