Nick Bollettieri

Nicholas James Bollettieri ( born July 31, 1931 in Pelham, New York) is an American tennis coach.

With his hard training methods he has formed many world-class players. Among the instrumental trained by him tennis pros include Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Tommy Haas, Jimmy Arias, Monica Seles, Anna Kournikova, Maria Sharapova, Nicole Vaidišová and Sabine Lisicki. Short term Bollettieri was also the coach of Boris Becker.

Bollettieri served as a young man in the United States Army and was promoted to the paratroopers to the lieutenant. After his military service, he studied law at the University of Miami. Since he was not able to successfully complete the program he began in 1956 his career as a tennis coach. He was what tennis is concerned, self-taught and was initially for only $ 10 training sessions on public tennis courts in New York. Since April 22, 2004 he is married in eighth marriage to Cindi Eaton.

He is the owner of the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, the 162,000 -square-foot site in Bradenton, located on the west coast of Florida, about 80 miles south of Tampa. There are talented young people whose parents have to spend large sums of money for this purpose, introduced to the world-class tennis.

On March 1, 2010 Bollettieri was officially nominated for induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
