Nick Martens

Nick Martens ( born September 11, 1982 in Ann Arbor, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player who was most recently in the 2009/10 season at the Hannover Indians from the 2nd Bundesliga under contract.

Career

Martens began his career in 1999 in the North American Hockey League for the Texas Tornado. There he played until 2001 before he was for four seasons with the team from the University of Michigan.

His professional career he started imJahr 2005 at the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League. In the season 2006/ 07 he moved between the San Antonio Rampage and Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL and then back to the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. After Martens, the game had started the year in the Austrian Hockey League for the EC Graz 99ers 2007/ 08, the defender joined in the course of the season to Germany in the 2nd Bundesliga REV Bremerhaven. He scored 19 points scorer in 41 games. In summer 2008, he left the club and joined the Hungarian club Alba Volán Székesfehérvár on, with which he was active in the Austrian Hockey League again. After he did not renew his contract there, he undertook in 2009 the leaders of the Hannover Indians.
