Nick Nieland

Nick Nieland (actually Nicholas Peter Russell Nieland; born January 31, 1972 in Truro ) is a former British javelin thrower.

He had at the Commonwealth Games 's greatest achievement: starting for England 2002 he won bronze in Manchester and 2006 in Melbourne gold.

Three times he competed in the Olympic Games ( Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 ) and four times at the World Athletics Championships (1997 in Athens, in 1999 in Seville, in 2001 in Edmonton and 2005 in Helsinki ), but never got beyond the qualification beyond. At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 he finished eleventh.

1996, 2005 and 2006, he was English Champion, 2007 British Champion. His best jump of 85.09 meters he set up in Birmingham on 13 August 2000.
