Nicola Thost

Nicola Thost ( May 3, 1977 in Pforzheim ) is a German former professional snowboarder, which in 1998 won the gold medal in the halfpipe at the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano.

Career

Nicola Thost than 14 -year-old snowboarding and recorded in 1996 with two titles at the Junior World Championships their first successes. After graduation in 1996 at the Reuchlin -Gymnasium, she devoted herself fully to the snowboarding and was professional. In 1998 she was the winner at the Olympic Games in Nagano in the halfpipe. Participating in her second Olympic Games in 2002 in Salt Lake City, for which it already in Chile qualified in the FIS World Cup in Valle Navado, was threatened by an upset spokes Break on the forearm. In March 2002, a photo series with Nicola Thost was published in the German edition of Playboy magazine. Since 2009 she is with her non-profit project springboard active in scouting and encourage young people into young snowboarders and acts as an Athlete Role Model for the Winter Youth Olympic Games 2012 in Innsbruck.

In August 2012, she finished the Trans Vorarlberg Triathlon in a team with Markus Schairer and Tobias Jenny fourth.
