Nicolás Peric

Nicolás Peric Miroslav Villarreal (* October 19, 1978 in Talca, Chile ) is a Chilean football goalkeeper who currently stands at CSD Rangers under contract. His nickname is Loco (Spanish: crazy).

Career

In Chile

Nicolás Peric started his professional football career at CSD Rangers and played there for five years, until he moved in 2004 to Universidad de Concepción, where he remained, however, only a year. On December 4, he tested positive for cocaine and was suspended from the CONMEBOL for six months. He and his teammates drank Kokablättertee before the game against Club Bolívar in La Paz, Bolivia, by also scored a goal. After his suspension, he refused to come off for the club, as the club was to pay his salary not in a position, so he was sold to the then defending champion Unión Española, where, however, he rarely was used.

In 2006 he signed for Audax Italiano and spent the most successful period of his career. He was with his club in the Copa Libertadores runner-up and finished the 2006/07 season in third place. Due to his good performances he was appointed to the Chilean national soccer team for the South American Continental Championship Copa America 2007. For the season 2007 /08 he moved to Turkey to Gençlerbirliği Ankara. Since 2012, he has returned to CSD Rangers under contract.

In Turkey

During his career in Turkey, he played for Gençlerbirliği Ankara. There he was able to avoid relegation with his team and was runner-up at the Turkish Football Cup.

On December 2, 2008, separated the club from Peric, because of his injuries and his lack of discipline.

In Argentina

In 2009 he was engaged by Claudio Borghi and signed a one-year contract with Argentinos Juniors. He established himself quickly became a regular player and played in 16 of 19 games. With Argentinos Juniors he was in the 2009/ 10 league champions.

2010 his contract was not renewed and therefore he moved to Paraguay to Olimpia Asuncion and then to CD Cobreloa. He remained there for only one season and since then has been back at CSD Rangers under contract.
