Old storehouses at the river in Trondheim

The Nidelva (also Nidar or Nidelv ) is a 30 km long river in the Fylke Sør -Trøndelag in Norway. The origins of the river in the lake Selbusjøen in Brøttem in the community Klæbu. From there it extends northward to the district Tiller over to the Leirfällen. At this point, it feeds two hydroelectric power plants. In the lower reaches, it passes strong mändrierend the community Stavne and the center of Trondheim. On the edge of town it opens at Brattøra in the Trondheim Fjord. At its mouth until the 1980s, several shipyards and shipbuilding companies were located. Today is here with a marina and the Quartier Nedre Elvehavn, a borough of Trondheim.
