Nietingsee

The Nietingsee is a lake on the territory of the municipality in the district of Kargow Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. It has a size of approximately 0.85 hectares and is at 65 m above sea level. NHN. The diameter of the nearly circular, heavily reeded lake is 100 meters. It is located half a mile north of the hamlet of Kargower bacon in the middle of the Müritz National Park in the Mühlenseerinne that was rewetted in the implementation of the national park plan in early 1990s, after it had come by earlier mill operation for drainage of the area. With rising water table gradually resulting there from forest died and regenerated the fens that have since surrounded the Nietingsee again.

A hiking trail leads from the National Park bacon coming southeast past the Nietingsee.
