Nigel Don

Nigel Don ( born April 16, 1954) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party ( SNP).

Life

Don attended the University of Cambridge and graduated as a chemical engineer. He then worked as a chemical engineer in the production of detergents. As of 1989, Don stayed home and devoted himself to the education of children. In addition, he worked as a music teacher. Nigel Don lives with his wife in Brechin.

Political career

2003 Don was elected for the SNP in the city council of Dundee. For the Scottish Parliament elections in 2007, Don applied for a list of the mandate constituency North East Scotland. Although he was only set on the fourth rank of the electoral list of the SNP, he received one of the two list seats for the SNP because its placed before him party colleague Alex Salmond and Brian Adam won each constituency seats. In the parliamentary elections of 2011, Don applied for the direct mandate of the newly created after the 2011 reform constituency constituency Angus North and Mearns. He won the direct mandate of the constituency well ahead of Alex Johnstone of the Conservative Party.
