Nigel Havers

Nigel Allan Havers ( born November 6, 1949 in London ) is a British actor.

Life

Havers attended the Arts Educational School in London and began his career as a radio speaker on the radio and played extras roles in theater. Since his breakthrough did not succeed as an actor, he went to a normal work activities until the mid-1970s. From 1970, he again had first small supporting roles in film and television. With the title role in the six-part miniseries Nicholas Nickleby his 1977 breakthrough as an actor. He subsequently had roles in international productions, the highlight was his role in the award-winning sports drama with the Oscar Chariots of Fire, for which he received a BAFTA nomination. He then played, among others, in David Lean's A Passage to India and Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun, however, focused mainly on television appearances in the UK. He played 1983-1990 the doctor Dr. Latimer in the series Do not Wait Up, 1997 to 1999 he presented Dr. Paige in Dangerfield dar. In 2002-2003, he starred in two seasons of the British sitcom " Manchild " ( in German: " Late guys "). From 2009, he starred in the series Coronation Street Lewis Archer.

Havers is married his third wife in 2007, from his first marriage he has a daughter. His father, Baron Havers represented as a lawyer in the 1960s, among other things, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in 1987 and Lord Chancellor.
