Nigel Pullman

Nigel Pullman ( born 1947 ) is a former officer in the British Army and British journalist. He is one of two Sheriffs of the City of London for the years 2012/13.

Biography

Pullman attended Sherborne School before he went to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

In 1968 he was assigned to the Royal Corps of Signals and served in the Brigade of Gurkhas and from 1974 to 1975 at the United Nations on the occasion of the Turkish military intervention in Cyprus. Before the end of his military service he was promoted to the rank of captain. After that, he joined the volunteer army Inns of Court and City Yeomanry and left this in 1988 with the rank of Major.

After Pullman had left the army, he worked from 1979 to 1996 for the Financial Times and was then 1997-2008 Secretary at the Worshipful Company of World Traders. From 2010 to 2011 he was the guild master of the Worshipful Company of Leather Sellers and was appointed to the position as one of the two Sheriffs of the City of London for the years 2012/13, 2012.
