Niklaus Dachselhofer

Niklaus Dachselhofer was from 1628 a member of the Bernese cantonal parliament and Secret, 1629 of the Small Council, from 1630 to 1634 he served as bailiff to Yverdon. In 1635 he became German champion and Eckel 1636 to 1667 he was alternately Schultheiss of Bern. Dachselhofer headed the commission investigating the embezzlement of Seckelmeisters Johann Frischherz ( 1639 ) and to investigate the background of the 1641 uprising took place Thun. During the Peasants' War in 1653, he represented to the rural community in Langnau im Emmental without success for the magisterial positions.
