Nikolai Vekšin

Nikolai Vekšin (born 11 Maijul / May 23 1887greg in Haapsalu, .. † January 15, 1951 in Norilsk, Russian SFSR ) was a Soviet Estonian or sailors.

Nikolai Vekšin graduated from the Technical Institute in St. Petersburg. In 1912 he was an alternate sailors in the Russian team at the Summer Olympics in 1912 in Stockholm. From 1925 to 1940 he was with the company Baltic and Põhja Paberi yes Puupapivabrikute AS busy. In the IX. Summer Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 was Vekšin at the age of 41 years a member of the team of the Estonian Boots Tutti V, which won the bronze medal in the 6 meter class to Norway and Denmark. His associates were William of Wirén, Eberhard Vogdt and the two brothers Andrew and George Faehlmann.

1945 won Vekšin at the USSR championships in the L -45 class silver medal. In 1945 he received the title of " master athletes of the Soviet Union." 1949 Nikolai Vekšin was arrested by the Soviet occupation authorities. He died in a Soviet prison camp in Siberia.
