Nils Hellner

Nils Hellner ( born February 12, 1965 in Göttingen ) is a German architectural historian and architect excavation.

Biography

Nils Hellner grew up as the son of the photographer of the German Archaeological Institute at Athens (DAI ), Gösta Hellner, in Greece. After his schooling, he studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin. After his graduation in 1992, he worked as a research assistant at the DAI Athens and 1994/95 as a travel scholarship. From 1996 to 2004 he was an assistant at the Department of Building History, Archaeology and Preservation at the Technical University of Munich. He was " The column bases of the second Dipteros of Samos " doctorate on the topic in 2002. After teaching at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan and the University of Trieste. From 2004 to 2006 he was the architect excavation of the Italian Mission to Oman ( IMTO ) and since 2006, he was overseas fellow of the DAI for Building Research. Since 2009 he is a speaker for Building Research at the German Archaeological Institute in Athens.
