Nina Lemesh

Nina Lemesch (Ukrainian Ніна Лемеш; born May 31, 1973 in Chernihiv ) is a Ukrainian biathlete.

Nina Lemesch operates since 1991 Biathlon. She is coached by Mykola Zots. The PE teacher has a daughter. Lemesch debuted in 1994 in Bad Gastein in the Biathlon World Cup and was 19th in an individual. It took up to a sprint race in Oberhof in 1997 that she first ran in eighth in the top ten. Shortly thereafter, she won the Ukrainian season in Nagano for the first time a World Cup race. After a hitherto rather moderate verlaufenen season 1997/98 they won surprisingly in Antholz the last pre-Olympic sprint races. It should be their only victory in a single race. The 1998/99 season should be their best. Multiple they could be placed very well and finished the season off with a 17th place in the overall World Cup. Only once she could place in 2001 in Lake Placid in sixth among the top 10 after that. After the second World Cup of the season 2003/ 04 she ended her season prematurely because of a pregnancy. A year later she started again in the European Cup and shortly afterwards again in the World Cup. But she could never even come close to penetrate back into the world top.

In 1995 Lemesch in Antholz Biathlon World Championships for the first time to participate. With the season they finished fifth here. Two years later, in Osrblie Lemesch was Sprint- eighth. After a poor 1998 World Cup in Pokljuka it ran in 1999 Kontiolahti better. In the sprint she was 16, in pursuit of the 19th and the season they also ran a fifth. The second half of the world championships of the year, which was held due to weather conditions at Holmenkollen in Oslo went equally well. In the mass start was eleventh. A year later she was able to win in the relay, which also Olena Subrylowa, Olena Petrova and Tetjana Wodopjanowa belonged beside her, with the bronze medal for the first time at the same place. A year later, she was able to repeat this result in Pokljuka with the same squadron. There were a 17th place in the sprint and 18th in the pursuit. Due to her pregnancy break it until three years later, in 2004 occurred in Oberhof, again at a World Championship. But here, as in all other world title bouts to 2007 in Antholz they could apart from three seventh bursting with the season show no significant results.

Apart from 2003 Lemesch occurred since 2001 to 2007, also in all European Championships. In 2002, she was with the squadron in Kontiolahti Bronze, 2005 Silver win in Novosibirsk. It launched in 1998 Osrblie at the World Championships in the summer biathlon and won silver in the sprint and pursuit.

Lemeschs first Olympic Games in 1998 were the competitions of Nagano. Here it was used in the singles, where she reached the 21th Place. Four years later in Salt Lake City was her best result of the season with a tenth place. The 2006 Games in Turin ran moderately athletic, was again their best finish - an eleventh place - in the relay.
