Nina Nesbitt

Nina Nesbitt ( born July 11, 1994, Edinburgh) is a Scottish singer and songwriter.

Life and career

Nesbitt is the daughter of a Swedish mother and a Scotsman. She grew up in Edinburgh, was a student of Balerno Community High School and studied music at Edinburgh 's Stephenson College. Her career began when she recorded her own songs and cover versions of other songs in her own room and she hochlud on the Internet platform YouTube. In their encounter with the British singer Ed Sheeran she was invited by him to perform at some of his concerts in the opening act; later she accompanied him on his European tour. She also starred in the music video the singer for the song Drunk a role. Furthermore, they opened three concerts in December 2011 for the musician Example, the was impressed by their version of his song Stay Awake. 2012 Nesbitt founded their own record label N ² Records, appeared in The Apple Tree EP. In June 2012, she signed a recording contract with Universal Records.

Nesbitt's first EP Live Take EP was released on 5 December 2011 and contains four songs ( in live versions ) and a " hidden track ". Besides the song Babylon by David Gray all songs were written by herself.

Her second EP The Apple Tree EP was released on 23 April 2012 and contains five songs. The EP reached # 6 of the UK iTunes download charts and # 1 on the British singer / songwriter charts.
