Nisien

Nissyen [ nisjen ] also Nisien, Nissien ( welsh: " The Peaceable " ), is in the Welsh mythology, the "light " brother of "dark" Efnisien. His father is Euroswydd, his mother Penarddun, his half- siblings are Bran the Blessed, and Branwen Manawydan.

Mythology

In the Second Branch of the Mabinogi, Branwen ferch Llyr in the narrative ( " Branwen, the daughter Llŷrs " ), Nissyen is described as extremely peaceful. He is always striving diplomatically to bring the freak out of his hot-headed brother back in order.

On arrival in Ireland, where the Welsh travel to come to the aid of Branwen, he wants to bring about peace. Gently he welcomes Gwern the son Branwen and Matholwchs, as his nephew, unlike Efnisien, then even killed the boy. Nissyen is among the seven survivors who return to Wales with Bran's head.
