Nissan MA engine series

The Nissan MA engine series has been newly developed for the Nissan Micra K10, who came to Japan in 1983 and Germany in 1982 to market. Were acquired different details from the motor series A and E of that larger vehicles.

The engine was designed exclusively in two -valve technology. The engine block and cylinder head made entirely of aluminum, which achieved a very low weight of only 70 kg ( incl. intake and exhaust manifold and alternator).

In addition to the 1.0-liter and 1.2 - liter petrol versions available in Germany, there were also in other countries, a 1.0 - injection, 1.0 turbo and a 0.9 -liter turbo compressor version.

The following MA engines were built by Nissan:

  • MA09ERT
  • MA10ET
  • MA10E
  • MA10S
  • MA12S

The motors are installed in the following, all based on the K10 platform Nissan models:

  • Nissan Micra ( HK10 )
  • Nissan Micra Turbo ( EK10FR )
  • Nissan Micra Super Turbo
  • Nissan Pao ( PK10 )
  • Nissan Figaro ( FK10 )
  • Nissan Be -1 ( BK10 )

The Nissan S- Cargo, also on K10 - base, the E15S engine was installed. The Nissan MA10E was sold in the kit, with the Nissan Saurus Jr..

Breakdown of the engine code

Nissan MA10S

The MA10S has been the first engine of the MA- series engine. He served for all subsequent versions of the engine as a basis.

Mixture preparation

  • For versions without KAT a downdraft carburetor with electronic shut-off valve against after-run
  • In versions with KAT a downdraft carburetor with Gemischregulierventil and shut-off valve
  • This carburetor version is also called single point injection, bearing in mind here that the Gemischregulierventil not injecting Kraftstroff, but additional air added, creating a mixture rudimäntäre regulation is achieved.
