Geographical distribution and habitat

The species is in North Africa ( Morocco to Libya), West, Central and Southern Europe, located in the north to Scotland, southern Norway, central Sweden and southern Finland. From there, the circulation area via the Baltic States pulls across Russia to the Urals. In Asia extend the evidence from southern Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and somewhat questionable to Iran, Afghanistan and North India. The distribution area stretches in the north to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The moths are but occasionally even far beyond their actual area found because they often wander far.

The area includes small woods and heaths with sandy soil. But you're lacking in the higher elevations of the mountains.

The narrow -leaf Bandeule forms one generation per year, flying the moth from June to September. They are considered very like to hike. The moths lay in July to early August, a summer rest one. They are nocturnal and come out on artificial light sources. Visit flowers and the bait also. The caterpillars are found from September to May of the following year. The nocturnal caterpillars live hidden in the herb layer. They feed on various low plants, such as grasses and herbaceous plants. In the literature there are the following:
