Non Boonjumnong

Non Boonjumnong ( Thai: น น บุญ จำนงค์; born June 12, 1982 in Ratchaburi as Manon Boonjumnong ) is a former Thai boxer at welterweight. In 2002 he became Asian champions, 2005 Vice - military world champion and 2007 runner-up world champion.

He is the younger brother of Olympic champion Manus Boonjumnong.

Boxing career

Boonjumnong was during his competitive career around 1,83 m tall and punched exclusively welterweight ( to 69 kg). He won the 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007, the Southeast Asian Games and 2002 Asian Championships in Seremban. He also won the bronze medal at the Asian Games in Busan in 2002.

At the 12th World Championships 2003 in Bangkok, he won against Leonard Bundi from Italy ( Ko) and Mirosław Nowosada from Poland ( 21:13 ), until he prematurely the Cubans Lorenzo Aragon defeated in the quarterfinals. At the 49th World Military Championships in 2005 in Pretoria, he won the silver medal. He beat off T. Tiryaki from Turkey 47:22, Azamat Makazhanov from Kazakhstan 20:12, Boyd Melson from the USA 16:15 and Ellis Chibuye from Zambia by 30:22, before only in the finale extremely tight against Henry Coyle from Ireland 26:26 subject.

Also at the 14th World Championships in 2007 in Chicago, he reached the runner-up title. After victories against Jorge Suárez of Mexico 23:10, 28:10 Aliasker Bashirov from Turkmenistan, the reigning European champion Andrei Balanow from Russia 16:12, Adam Trupish from Canada 25:17 and 23:20 Hanati Silamu from China, he lost only in final against the Americans Demetrius Andrade.

In 2008 he represented Thailand at the 29th Summer Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing, where he but already the Egyptian Hossam Bakr Abdin narrowly lost in the first round with 10:11.

Further international successes he achieved, among others, by winning the Copenhagen Cup 2001 in Denmark and the triple win (2001, 2004, 2005 ) of the King's Cup in Thailand.
