Nongae

Nongae [no ː ngɛ ] († 1593) was one of the most famous Gisaengs in Korea. Its fame stems from the fact that she is said to have lured during the Japanese invasion after the conquest of the fortress of Jinju a Japanese general on a cliff, and then plunged with him into the river Nam. 1772 was the Korean king to erect a monument for her, at the point from which it is assumed that they had jumped from there into the river. The monument is called Brave - rock ( Uiam 의암 [ ɨjam ] ). Then a brief description of their act was carved. It is located next to the pavilion Chokseok ru ( 촉석루 ) in Jinju Gyeongsangnam -do. Several well-known poet who dedicated their poems.
