Norbert Glante
Norbert Glante ( born August 8, 1952 in Caputh circle Potsdam ) is a German politician ( SPD).
Life and career
After attending a polytechnic high school Glante began in 1969 an apprenticeship as an electrician in the VEB Electronic Components Teltow, which he finished in 1972. Then he completed the basic military service with the NVA and was then again from 1973 to 1976 in his company served as Prüffeldmechaniker. In 1976, he was a high school at a community college. He then completed until 1980 at the Engineering School of Management, a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering ( FH) for automation technology. He then returned as a design engineer for VEB Electronic Components Teltow back. From 1984 to 1990 Glante worked as a computer scientist at the National Institute for Earth Physics in Potsdam.
Norbert Glante is married, has three children and lives in Werder ( Havel ). His wife Kerstin (* 1966) is also involved in the SPD: to 2008 as a city councilor in Werder ( Havel ), from September 2008 to April 2011 as a member of the district Potsdam- agent market.
Party
In December 1989 Glante became a member of the Social Democratic Party of the GDR.
Member of Parliament
Since 1994 Glante is a member of the European Parliament. He is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and Deputy member of the International Trade Committee and Vice President of the EU -Latin American Parliamentary Assembly ( EUROLAT ). He is a member of the Delegation to the EU - Mexico Joint Parliamentary Committee and Deputy Member of the Delegation to the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee. Glante serves on the board of the SPD deputies in the European Parliament. For the 2014 European elections, he withdrew his candidacy.
Public offices
On 29 May 1990 Glante was elected District Administrator of Potsdam. In the district reform of education of the district Potsdam- agent Mark he could not prevail against its competitors from among Belzig. His election officials time ended on 20 February 1994.
Memberships
Glante was state chairman of the bipartisan European Union and Germany Brandenburg SPD representative to the Board of the European Union Parliamentarians European Parliament. He is a founding member of the German European Security Association, founded in 2006.
Norbert Glante is Vice President of the European Energy Forum, an organization of MEPs as well as companies and organizations in the energy sector, " the proposals its associate members ( economic power ) with the interests of its active members ( legislative power ) in cooperation with the European Commission ( executive power ) "shall together into events for its members and so encourage regular dialogue on the subject.
