Norbert Siegmann

Norbert Siegmann ( born May 20, 1953) is a former German football player.

In the Bundesliga Siegmann has denied 209 Bundesliga appearances for VfB Stuttgart, Tennis Borussia Berlin and Werder Bremen. He scored 10 goals. He also came in 2nd league to 8 goals in 79 games.

Career

Siegmann began his football career at Wacker 04 Berlin with the Berlin Cup winner he was in 1971. He then played one season for Tasmania Berlin in the Regionalliga Berlin. (1971 /72) and was runner-up in Berlin. For Tasmania, he shot 2 goals in 29 Regional games. He also came to 2 inserts in the promotion round to the Bundesliga in the games against the Wuppertal SV and VfL Osnabrück Tasmania lost both. Under the coach Hermann Eppenhoff he moved to VfB Stuttgart. From 1972 to the end of 1973 he came to 28 Bundesliga appearances for VfB Stuttgart. On 1 January 1974 he moved to Tennis Borussia Berlin for which he for in 28 league games and 37 games came in 2nd league for use until 1976 in which he shot 4 goals. From 1976-1984 he played for Werder Bremen. For Werder he came to 199 operations, including 40 games in the 2nd League North and 159 games in the Bundesliga 1. He scored in these games 4 goals in the 2nd league and 10 goals in the Bundesliga. He was no longer used in the 1984/85 season in the Bundesliga and Werder left after this season. His last position in professional football was the SC Fortuna Köln, for which it is accrued in the 1985/86 season twice in the 2nd Bundesliga. He also came to 6 games in the DFB - Pokal for Werder Bremen.

Siegmann played both in defense and in midfield.

Foul on Lienen

On August 14, 1981 his club Werder Bremen against Arminia Bielefeld Ewald Lienen was seriously injured in a foul by Siegmann in the game. Lienen suffered about 25 centimeters long open flesh wound in the thigh, in which the muscle sheath was seen. The photos dominated for days after the game's newspapers. Lienen threw thereafter before Siegmanns coach Otto Rehhagel to have Siegmann asked to intentionally foul him. Siegmann, who received no red card in his entire career, denied this. He later said in an interview that the foul had been done by over-motivation and inexperience.

After the career

Siegmann 1986 had to end his career due to injury. He traveled the world, visiting the Yoga Center Rishikesh. Siegmann is practicing Buddhist today.

On 17 June 2008, presented 08 Bremen (District League B ) Norbert Siegmann as the new coach of the men's team of SV Weser.
