Norddeutscher Regatta Verein

The North German Regatta Association is a sailing club based in Hamburg.

It was founded in 1868 and has 1,918 members (2007).

It is the home club of numerous participants in European and World Championships and Olympic Games. So won the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach, Hans Howaldt, Felix Scheder - Bieschin, Eduard Mohr, Otto Fritz Bischoff and wax as crew of the Germania III at the 1936 Olympic Games bronze in the 8mR class. Better cut off Werner Krogmann, who sailed in the O- Jolle the silver medal. With the gold medal in the Star class Peter Bischoff and Hans -Joachim manner crowned the track record of the NRV.

In the Summer Olympics 1960 Rolf Mulka and Ingo von Bredow gathered in the Flying Dutchman also bronze. Even the silver medal, it was enough in the same boat class 1968 Ullrich Libor from the NRV. Four years later he won the bronze medal. Also in 1972 sailed Willi cow pasture in the Star class at the Olympic Games and the bronze medal in the same year took the world title.

In 2008 Olympic Games in Qingdao in Tornado Johannes Polgar and Florian Spalteholz sailed on a hapless eighth place. They were in the medal race in the meantime in third place overall, but then suffered a broken rudder, after they had run over a wooden stake. So they had to give the medal race.

The NRV has co-founded, among other sailing events such as the Kiel Week and the Travemünde Week and was most recently in 2007 he initiated the organizer of HSH Nordbank blue race.
