Nordic Green Left Alliance

The Nordic Green Left Alliance (Nordic Green Left Alliance, NGLA ) is a federation of seven Nordic Green Left parties. The NGLA was founded on January 30, 2005 in Reykjavík from five parties and is an integral party proposed at European level, but no pending European party. 2009 joined two other parties from Greenland and the Faeroe Islands of NGLA.

In the Nordic Council, the parties of the NGLA represent the majority of the left - green group that joins them, only the Danish unit list. In the European Parliament, the member parties of the NGLA distribute in two different fractions: Greens / EFA (two Danish MEPs ) and European United Left - Nordic Green Left ( a Swedish mandate ).

Individual Member parties are involved in regular European parties: Vasemmistoliitto in the European Left, which Socialistisk Folkeparti as an observer at the European Green Party.

Programmatically, the NGLA agreed on a political platform, which has both ecological and social issues to focus on. The highest body is the Annual General Meeting. In between, decisions are taken by a council of seven party leaders. The member parties take turns on an annual basis in the chair.
