Nordica (company)

Nordica is an Italian manufacturer of winter sports equipment.

History

In 1939, the brothers Adriano and Oddone Vaccari founded after years of experience as a leather merchant in Montebelluna the company Nordica, which established casual shoes. After the war began Nordica next cross country skiing and hiking boots also with the production of ski boots. In the 1970s, Nordica has been the leading manufacturer of ski boots and founded its own sales companies in the most important winter sports markets ( Germany, France, Japan, Austria, Switzerland, USA). Nordica noted at the time with about 2,000,000 pair of ski boots per year, about 30% of global footwear production.

In 1991, Nordica 50 % on sporting goods manufacturer Rollerblade.

In 2003 the company was taken over by the Tecnica Group and Nordica specialized in the impact on the development, production and sales of ski boots and skis.

2009, the 70 - year anniversary of the company was held.
