Norte de Santander Department

The Departamento de Norte de Santander is a department in northeastern Colombia, whose capital is Cúcuta. It is bordered to the north and east by Venezuela, to the south by the Departamento de Boyacá and to the west by the departments de Santander and Cesar del.

The animal husbandry and agriculture are the main economic factors of the province. There are cultivated coffee, tobacco, yucca, bananas and cocoa. The province has extensive petroleum and coal deposits. She continues to live by the border traffic with Venezuela.

The National Park Tamá and the Los Estoraques are of great tourist interest.
