North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic

The Nordossetische ASSR ( Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic Nordossetische ) was an autonomous Soviet republic in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic ( RSFSR ) within the Soviet Union. It consisted of 1924 or 1936 until 1991. Was Vladikavkaz, the capital, which was temporarily named Ordzhonikidze. In the 8000 square kilometers of mountainous land in the northern Caucasus Today, about 700,000 people. In Sadon lead and zinc is mined. After the end of the USSR, the region maintained its status and has since as Republic of North Ossetia-Alania part of Russia.

On 7 July 1924, the " Nordossetische autonomous region " was created in the Russian Federation with headquarters in Vladikavkaz, which was renamed on December 5, 1936 in Nordossetische Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
