Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic

The Tatar ASSR ( Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic) was an autonomous Soviet republic in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic ( RSFSR ) within the Soviet Union. It existed from 1920 until 1990. The steppe is the Kamamündung and the Kuibyshev Reservoir of the Volga. The capital was Kazan. The area has large oil and phosphorite. In 1920, the since the 16th century is under Russian dominion ASSR within the RSFSR. During the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the area under the name of Tatarstan declared on 30 August 1990 sovereign republic, which was confirmed in 1992 by a referendum. However, in 1994 a new federation treaty with Russia was signed. Since then, the Republic of Tatarstan is again part of Russia. Tatarstan agreed with the Russian central power new special rights, which include an expanded economic autonomy among others.
