Not That Far Away ( German Not so far away) is a song by American country singer Jennette McCurdy, published 24 May 2010 on the radio and on 1 June 2010 as a download. On 10 July 2010 he appeared on the eponymous EP. The song was written by Jennette McCurdy, Blair Daly and Rachel Protor and produced by Paul Worley.

Not That Far Away is a song with an increased pace at which above all banjos and electric guitars, including Steel Guitars happen. In the text, the narrator describes the scenario of a young girl who dreams of becoming a country musician, and therefore leaves for Nashville in Tennessee. She assured her mother that she " not so far away " is from her hometown in California.
McCurdy says that " this song really captures the last year of my life. I wrote in Nashville for my drive and added it and following my dream while I really missed my family and friends in Garden Grove ( California ) " In a poll, the song was chosen by the fans with 30 % as debut single. ; the vote stood the six titles of their planned EPs Not That Far Away, one of which an excerpt was published as a basis for decision.
Reception
Jim Malec of The 9513 gave the song a lowered thumb and compared him with something that Carrie Underwood would probably mean taking out. He believes that McCurdy " as generally capable vocalist proof notes," but her voice " Underwood's missing flawless tonal quality, outstanding vocal control and incredible power. "
Jim Kiest noted: "A perfectly credible, fairly easy to vergessendes, Country debut on the pursuit of dreams ... fans of her series have McCurdy perhaps as a bad girl counterpart to Taylor Swift kept; hopes on, children, so far it has not happened. "
Music Video
The music video, directed by Roman White was shot in Watertown ( Tennessee) and published on 14 August 2010 on Nickelodeon and CMT. In the video McCurdy moves into a new home, sets up it one with furniture and hanging pictures on the show with her mother. Then she takes her guitar and walking through the city, while she goes into a café where she recites the Song Open in a micro - evening. Throughout the video you see McCurdy, as she phoned and writes something in a diary, as well as she sings the song in different places.
Chart position
" Not That Far Away" came in the week of July 10, 2010 in the U.S. Billboard Country Songs charts and reached the same week the 58th; this was the best placement of the song.
