Nouvelair

Nouvelair Tunisie ( الطيران الجديد تونس ), in the outer appearance Nouvelair short, is a private Tunisian airline based in Monastir.

History

Nouvelair was founded in October 1989 as a subsidiary of the French Air Liberté and traded until 1996 as Air Liberté Tunisie. On 21 March 1990, the flight operations began with an initially acquired by the parent company McDonnell Douglas MD -83 and 1997 two additional aircraft could be procured. 1999 began the conversion to the aircraft type, the Airbus A320 family, are of the twelve copies currently in use. The company has partnerships with, among others, the Thomas Cook Group, TUI and Rewe Touristik. They also fly in Germany airports such as Leipzig, Erfurt and Dresden.

As of July 2013, the fleet of aircraft consists of eleven Nouvelair with an average age of approximately 12.1 years:

  • 9 Airbus A320 -200, each with 177 seats ( one operated for Libyan Airlines )
  • 2 Airbus A321 -200, each with 215 seats
