Nsumbu-Nationalpark

The Nsumbu National Park in Zambia covers 2,000 km ² and is situated with a shore area of 100 kilometers south-west on Lake Tanganyika. The area offers wide sandy beaches, high granite cliffs, quiet coves and dark valleys, of which the river Lufubu has dug 300 feet deep, which forms the eastern boundary of the park and flows into the lake. The vegetation consists mainly of Combretum thickets, wild fig and acacia trees. West of Nsumbu the Game Management Areas are Tondwa ( 54,000 ha) and Kaputa ( 360,000 ha).
