Nugent Slaughter

Nugent Slaughter ( born March 17, 1888 in Virginia; † December 27, 1968 in Oroville, California ) was an American film technician.

Life

Nugent Slaughter was employed at the time of the silent film and early sound film as a film technician and was responsible for the special effects in the first sound film The Jazz Singer (1927 ).

In the first Oscar ceremony in 1929 he was nominated for his overall performance for the awarded only in the year Oscar for best technical effects ( Best Engineering Effects). However, the prize was awarded to Roy Pomeroy.
