Nycticebus bancanus

Nycticebus bancanus is a wet nose primacy from the kind of slow lorises, which is found on the Indonesian island of Bangka, after which it was named, as well as in southwestern Borneo.

Features

Nycticebus bancanus achieved an average head -body length of 25.8 cm and is similar in body shape all other slow lorises. A characteristic feature of the species is color and shape of dark brown face mask around the eyes and the diffuse - edged shape of the dark areas above the eyes. The face mask is not enough down to the zygomatic arch. Between the eyes there is a wide, white stripes. The ears are hairy, the colored band in the ears is narrow. The wide fur strip on the back is striking purple.

Dissemination

Nycticebus bancanus lives on Bangka and in the southwestern Borneo ( Kalimantan Barat Kalimantan Tengah and ) south of the Kapuas and east of the Barito. In Bangka, he is the only Plumploriart. Since it is not certain whether the Kapuas its range insurmountable separates from that of Nycticebus borneanus, the distribution area of Nycticebus bancanus could partially overlap with that of Nycticebus borneanus.
