Handkerchief tree ( Davidia involucrata )

The Tupelogewächse ( Nyssoideae ) are a subfamily in the plant family Dogwood ( Cornaceae ) within the order of the dogwood -like ( Cornales ). They are closely related to the dogwood plants, where they are often associated. There is a disjoint area: North America and Southeast Asia.

Description

The types of Nyssoideae are evergreen trees or shrubs. The change-constant leaves are stalked. The flowers are borne singly or in racemose, capitate or doldigen inflorescences.

System

She was of the family Nyssaceae Juss. ex Dum. downgraded to the subfamily Nyssoideae Arnott and now belongs to the family Cornaceae.

In the subfamily Nyssoideae are five genera with about 22 to about 30 species:

  • Camptotheca Decne. With only two species in China.
  • Davidia Baillon is sometimes performed as a separate family Davidiaceae, with only one type: Davidia involucrata Baill. The home is located in central China.
