Obed Dlamini

Obed Dlamini Mfanyana ( born April 4, 1937 in Mhlosheni ) is a Swazi politician and served from 1989 to 1993 Prime Minister of Swaziland.

He enjoyed a good education at various schools in Swaziland and then worked from 1961 to 1964 as a teacher. He then worked as an employee of financial institutions. Later he became General Secretary of the National Federation of Trade Unions. Obed Dlamini in 1989 successor of Sotsha Dlamini as Prime Minister. He reigned only three years in a time in which the people increasingly demanded reforms of the political system. Since 1993 he has been senator since 1999 and Chairman of the Swazi Democratic Alliance.
