Sishayi Nxumalo

Sishayi Simon Nxumalo ( b. 1936; † 25 February 2000) was a politician of Swaziland. In addition to his political career, he was until 1983 Director of Tibiyo Taka Ngwane, one of the most important business enterprises of his country.

Nxumalo founded in 1962, the Democratic Party, which he headed until his election defeat in 1964 as General Secretary. He then moved to the monarchist party Imbokodwo National Movement ( IMF ) and brought it there to considerable political influence. From 1967 he worked in the government and in 1983 appointed Minister of Finance. On June 8, 1984 Nxumalo was, after accusing other members of the government of corruption, was arrested along with three other men on suspicion of instigating a revolution, but was released on 31 December 1985 and amnestied.

From 8 May to July 26, 1996 Nxumalo was Deputy Prime Minister of Swaziland. After King Mswati III. Prince Jameson Mbilini Dlamini was dismissed from the government, he sat temporarily Nxumalo as the head of government. He died on 25 February 2000 in a traffic accident.
