Obszarniki

Obszarniki ( German Abschermeningken, 1932-1945 Almental ) is a village in the northeast of the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and is part of the gmina Banie Masurian ( Benkheim ) in Gołdapski powiat ( county Goldap ).

Geographical location

Obszarniki located northwest Gołdap ( Goldap ) to a subordinate road from the county town parallel to the Polish- Russian border on Mażucie ( Masutschen ) and Zabin (small Szabienen ) and Dąbrówka ( Dombrowken ) until after Budry ( Buddern ) in the province road 650 runs. A rail connection does not exist.

History

The village was formerly called Abschermeningken 1874 Official Village of an office district, the - until 1945 - to the district Darkehmen ( 1938-1946 district Angerapp ) in the district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910, there were 297 inhabitants, whose number increased to 1933 to 366.

On June 3, 1938 Abschermeningken received with official confirmation of 16 July 1938 for political and ideological reasons, the new name " Almetal ". 1939 the village had 298 inhabitants, which then almost complete in 1945 and abandoned in the following years their home had. Almental became Polish and changed its name - in accordance with the valid until 1938 - in " Obszarniki ". Today it is in the Gmina Banie Masurian ( Benkheim ) in the powiat Gołdapski incorporated ( 1975-1998 Suwałki Voivodeship ) in the Warmia - Mazury.

District Abschermeningken / Almental

Between 1874 and 1945 Abschermeningken was the seat and the eponymous site of an office district, which was formed on 6 May 1874 by eight rural communities and agricultural estates:

In 1939 the District was Abschermeningken in " District Almental " renamed. It included on 1 January 1945, the five municipalities: Almental, track sheaves, crutches, Oberhofen and Peter germ.

Church

Prior to 1945, were the inhabitants of Abschermeningken / Almental almost exclusively Protestant denomination. The village was in the parish Kleszowen ( since 1946 Kutusowo ), now located directly behind the Polish- Russian border, the parish. It belonged to the church district Darkehmen ( since 1946 Russian: Osjorsk ) in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union. Last German clergyman was pastor Günther hot.

Since 1945, the population of Obszarniki predominantly Catholic denomination is. Vicarage is now Zabin (small Szabienen ) in the deanery in the diocese Gołdap Elk ( Lyck ) of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here living Protestant inhabitants belong to the Church in Węgorzewo ( Angerburg ), the branch church in the parish Giżycko ( Lötzen ) in the Diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church Mazury in Poland.
