Margrethausen is a district of Albstadt in Zollernalbkreis, Baden- Württemberg. It is located on the Swabian Alb, about halfway between Stuttgart and Lake Constance.

History
The place Margrethausen was first mentioned in 1275 as " Husen Margarete " in a tax register of the Bishop of Constance. In 1338 the monastery here Margrethausen was founded. 1000 meters east of the monastery are located on the " Kugelbergle " the remains of the castle Wildlife Mountain from the 13th century.
The rule about the place was to the 15th century in the men's mountain of animal. As a result, she went over to the house of the Lords von Stauffenberg on the Lords of Westerstetten 1625.
In the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), the village and the monastery church was badly damaged. In 1707 the church was rebuilt, with the tower of the previous building was included to bell storey. After secularization in 1803 under Napoleon the place in 1805 fell to Württemberg and the upper office Balingen was assigned from 1934, the district Balingen emerged.
The patron saint of the parish is the Holy Margarete; of her, the place its name, there are in the vicinity further Hausen- places ( Zillhausen, Stockhausen). In 1934 the parish church of a new choir with very remarkable stained glass.

Blazon: Azure, a border golden deer under golden shield with three main beams made blue -looking crowns.
Explanation: The deer stands for the former lords of Tierberg. The deer symbolizes the ruling dynasty ( Lautlingen = doe, Hossingen = fawn ) of the mountain has lost touch - in contrast to the volume Linger coat of arms, in which the doe ( female counterpart to the deer ) standing on a mountain. The three crowns in chief stand for the Magi. They were the patrons of the monastery Margrethausen. The coat of arms was awarded to the community on September 12, 1949.

Structures
Margret Stockhausen's townscape and history is marked by the huge monastery complex. Already in 1338 there were Franciscans; according to oral tradition already 40 years ago. The present buildings were completed in 1723. After the dissolution of the monastery in 1811 the south wing was demolished in the latter half of the 19th century. In the remaining parts of the building, the Catholic church, the local government, the voluntary fire brigade and the Swabian Albverein are currently resides. Worth seeing is the original still preserved oven in the basement. To its left is the drying room for the freshly washed laundry of the monastery: A passage to the oven through the waste heat can be used in the drying room.
The Catholic Church of St Margaret (built 1337, rebuilt 1707) was 1933/34, as an extension of a new, modern choir. The inserted between narrow concrete piers 13 glass windows of the apse are artistically strictly composed; they represent pictorially a sophisticated, theological program dar.
On the Kugelbergle on the Ochsenberg east of Margrethausen are the remains of the castle mountain wildlife. Today, still in operation is the Versorgungshof the castle on the mountain ox, the ox- house and now serves as a picnic area for hiking and winter sports.

In the former school, the State Department of Didactics and Teacher Education ( GHS) Albstadt is a learning workshop for aspiring teachers and the " Service Center English primary school" of the Department and School Education of the Regional Council of Tübingen
